Converting Your
Memories to Digital
Converting Video
to mp4 Digital Files
Converting video
to mp4 is a
process where your – now “old” technology – VHS,
Hi 8,
Mini DV,
Betamax
and VHS-C tapes
is turned into a popular, current format, called mp4,
so you can enjoy them on any Windows or MAC computer. It’s also the most common
format used to share videos
with friends and family. In fact, services
like YouTube,
Vimeo,
Facebook,
and most of the others recommend this format. As an added benefit, it’s also a
file that is about half the size of typical AVI and Quicktime
files. It’s the best way to go.
Types of
formats we can convert:
VHS-C,
Hi8,
D8,
8mm,
Betamax,
DV,
mini DV,
DVCAM,
3/4 Umatic SP, Betacam SP,
HD,
HDV and VHS!
The
equipment used to transfer VHs or
Camcorder videos to MP4 files is professional, commercial
quality.

Moments to Digital
AV Workshop
can transfer cassette
tapes, records and
reel to reel audio to CD,
mp3,
wave or aiff files. By transferring your audio to digital,
you will give new life to those precious memories!
Each audio
source is handled with care and is only used once for playback. Also, we can
enhance your audio recordings
during the transfer
by optimizing the audio
levels and reducing the noise which analog is prone to have. Once the audio is digitized,
we can apply noise reduction filters such as hiss & hum removal and crackle
& pop removal. Thus, your memories
will sound better than ever and will be there for generations to come!

Convert Video
Camcorder & VHS to DVD
The most
basic reason is that your video tapes
and VHS
will not last forever. In fact, after 10 years (even if they’re stored in ideal
conditions) they will start to degrade very quickly. The second reason is that
every time you play a tape – you lose quality. This means video dropout, color
loss, or even what’s commonly called “Sticky Tape Syndrome”. The reality is
video tape technology simply doesn’t stand the test of time.
Typical
formats which are transferred to DVD:
VHS-C,
Hi8,
D8,
8mm,
Video8,
Betamax,
DV,
mini DV,
DVCAM,
3/4″
Umatic SP,
Betacam SP,
HD,
HDV,
and VHS to DVD.
You may be
asking whether we also do “VCR” to DVD.
The answer is yes, because your VCR
is actually a VHS!
If you have footage on your iPhone
or iPad,
we can also transfer
that to DVD
too. Generally, we recommend no more than 2 hours of video per disc. One hour
per disk results in the very best possible quality, but 2 hours is still very
good. If we stretch it, and use what’s called a “lower bit rate”, you’ll start
to lose resolution.
